Our General English language course is a full-time course and takes place all year round here at our school in Dublin, Ireland - so you can begin anytime!
The course comprises 20 classes per week from Monday to Friday from 9.20am-1.00pm with a short break for tea/coffee/soft drinks at 11.20am.
The course caters for students with various levels of English and students are given a level test to ensure they are in the right class for their level.
While the classes cover general English grammar, speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, the special focus of all our courses is to get students speaking English successfully. Up to 50% of the class is devoted to getting students to speak and to practise what they are learning. Often, teachers are happy to discuss with students about aspects of Irish culture and things to do or see in Dublin and Ireland.
Class sizes are restricted to a maximum of 11 students per class so that students get full teacher attention and maximum of opportunity to practise speaking English with the teacher and other students. The average class size during the year is often only 7/8.
Students receive an end-of-course certificate of attendance stating the level of English achieved and the number of hours attended on their course.
Each Monday students receive an outline of what they will learn that week and each Friday they receive a quick review and assessment by their teacher in order to monitor their class level and progress.
