The DLTC English Language School offers a range of facilities to our students.
Social Programme Students are welcome to enjoy our social acitivities. Each Tuesday afternoon there is a free activity or event. Either a lecture with the school Director about Ireland, its history, its culture, etc; or a walk with one of the teachers in some of the most beautiful parts of Dublin and its surroundings - often these walks finish up in a typical Irish pub for some refreshments! The walks and lectures are a great way to improve your English, ask questions about Ireland, and meet other teachers and students. Each Friday after class students are invited to a local bar/café to enjoy a coffee or beer with teachers and students from other classes. From time to time the school organises additional acitivities and visits .. some visits have included Irish dancing nights, Irish pub music nights, Guinness factory tours, Newgrange tours, National Museum, National Gallery and Chester Beatty library visits. During the summer we also enjoy 6-a-side football games among students and staff on local all-weather football pitches.
Free Computer, Wi-Fi and Internet access for students to check emails, write CVs, Skype and chat online.
Coffee, tea, and cold drinks
Coffee, tea, and soft drinks are available to students before and after class and during breaks.
Friday coffee morning On Fridays at midday, students get the opportunity to go to a local bar or cafe with the teachers. That way you get to meet students and teachers from other classes and to improve your spoken English in relaxed and informal surroundings.
Advice - tourist, academic, accommodation, work.
To ensure your stay at our school is enjoyable aswell as educational, we can provide visiting students with a free local information guide full of ideas of things to see and do in Dublin during your stay. The Academic Director is available to give students advice on learning English, exams etc. We can also provide information to students on places to look for private accommodation and employment.
Bus and train commuter tickets
The school can order bus and train commuter tickets for you before you arrive. These tickets are at student prices and so are cheaper than regular bus and train tickets. With these tickets you can travel either to or from school or around Dublin on sightseeing visits. Current prices are available on our booking form. A current bus and train timetable is also included.
Airport Transfers
Students may avail of our Airport transfer service. We can collect you from the airport on your arrival in Dublin, bring you to your accommodation and even bring you back to the airport on your departure. The service costs approximately €70 each journey but please see our booking form for exact current prices. The journey takes between 40-75 minutes depending on traffic. However, we do advise students that there is a very good private bus service between the school and Dublin airport which costs only €8 each way.
English language library
To help improve English language skills, students can read or borrow English magazines, newspapers and books from our collection for free.
